Anthracological perspective on vegetation history in Roztoky u Prahy

This thesis researches forest history and human impact on it in prehistory and early Middle Ages by means of soil charcoal analysis, i.e. pedoanthracology. It focuses on a site called "Roztocký háj" with long-term human settlement near Roztoky u Prahy in central Bohemia. Pedoanthracology brings information about past woody vegetation that is very local and without much anthropogenic influence. On the other hand, archeoanthracology focuses on charcoal originating from archeological excavations directly from human settlements. These charcoals are therefore formed by human behaviour and provide general view on woody vegetation in wider surroundings of the site. Comparing results of these two approaches in Roztoky is allowed by long-term archeological excavations. They provided previously analyzed and partially published charcoal dataset. Newly obtained pedoanthracological dataset brings finer spatial scale, allows to find out the effect of local conditions on the charcoal spectra and also allows identification of possible purposefully selected taxa in the archeoanthracological assemblage. Muzeum a současnost - Středočeské Museum in Roztoky in Years 1978 -1993

Introduction of the bachelor thesis will be dedicated to formation of Středočeské muzeum in Roztoky u Prahy, its local and national importance and the influence on the former scientists and artists connected with the museum. Then it is going to map local first scientific activity in Zpravodaj in years 1965-1976. The main theme will be a study of the Muzeum a současnost yearbooks in 1978-1993 (changing with relation to political situation) and important persons connected with it. Then the value of the Muzeum a současnost in different classes of scientific and artistic working. Conclusion of the thesis will be summarizing the facts and appreciating the importance of the institution and the Muzeum a současnost publications in years 1978-1993 and transformation of the Muzeum a současnost to Středočeský vlastivědný sborník.

Roztoky u Prahy - revitalisation of the public space. Lanscape design of the sport place .

This thesis deals with landscape design of public space situated in Czech town Roztoky.
First part focuses on greenery in urban spaces, designing children's playgrounds and outdoor sport places. Opinions of individual authors, specialists are taken into consideration, talking about topics such as greenery in small cities, problems and suggestions of designing children's playground, positive influence of outdoor sporting on people's health, types of outdoor sport places, etc. All this information is put together to help to design the right public space.
The second part of this thesis contains assessment of underlying data, which characterises the whole area including natural conditions, wider relation of the selected area, transportation etc. It also includes mapping of public greenery, children's playgrounds and outdoor sport places in Roztoky.
Before the actual design was made, there were area analyses conducted, and current status of the area was taken into account. Citizens of Roztoky were given a questionnaire, which contained seven questions. This questionnaire was made to find out what people think about the selected area and what would they like to change. All this information was taken into account, while making the design.
The objective of the final design was to attract people into the selected area and enable them to play, sport, relax in public space and feel comfortable at the same time.
